And that is a wrap! CBS, it has been a wonderful experience.
Recently, Zulfikar Daya attended the CBS event, emphasising Suncombe’s commitment to the Biosafety community, ongoing developments, and valuable insights that can shape future projects.
Being at these significant events like CBS is essential, especially in markets where we are building a presence such as Canada and Australia. Consistent participation also helps us to build relationships with the most important people in the mix… the users (you). It also allows for some great collaborative opportunities with our peers and partners.
Pre-Symposium Workshops: Building a Strong Foundation
The event kicked off with a series of pre-symposium workshops that set a solid foundation for the days ahead. Participants delved into the Transportation of Dangerous Goods, gaining critical insights into the safe and compliant movement of hazardous materials. Another workshop focused on Planning for Resilience and Change in Laboratories, where experts discussed strategies for adapting laboratory environments to meet future challenges and ensure continuity in research and operations. Additionally, the Biosafety Cabinets session provided attendees with practical knowledge on optimising biosafety equipment to enhance laboratory safety.
Keynote Highlights and Critical Analyses
A standout moment of the symposium was the keynote address by David Bryant, who explored the lifecycle of biosafety practices. His insights underscored the importance of evolving biosafety measures to keep pace with scientific advancements and emerging threats. The symposium also featured an in-depth analysis of 2023 Laboratory Exposure Incidents, presented by Antoinette Davis from PHAC. This session shed light on recent challenges involving human pathogens and toxins, emphasizing the need for robust safety protocols and proactive risk management.
Attending the CBS event represented a fantastic opportunity to build relationships, gather insights, and position us ready for future success and serves as a reminder of the importance of active participation and strategic involvement in the ever-evolving business world.
