October Biosafety News Suncombe

October’s Round-Up

Welcome to our Industry News! Here, we’ll keep you updated on the latest innovations, trends, and developments in the world of industrial processing and equipment.

Suncombe’s Latest Innovation: Compact pH Neutralisation System

We have recently unveiled our newest product – the Compact pH Neutralisation System. This innovative solution addresses the growing demand for smaller-scale pH neutralisation equipment, particularly in laboratory settings.

Check out the full article here.

The Compact pH Neutralisation System is designed to treat liquid waste, ensuring it meets the required pH range for release into sewers or effluent treatment plants. Despite being primarily for waste streams, our team maintains committed to quality by incorporating GMP principles into the design.

Sustainability and Recycling Technologies

New developments in equipment design focus on sustainability, particularly in API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient) manufacturing. Recycling technologies are being incorporated into production processes, improving resource efficiency and reducing waste. This focus on greener manufacturing aligns with broader industry goals of reducing the environmental impact of pharmaceutical production.

Nobel Prize in Chemistry

This year’s award was shared between David Baker for his work in computational protein design and Demis Hassabis and John Jumper from Google DeepMind for their groundbreaking AI model AlphaFold2, which accurately predicts protein structures. This discovery is revolutionising our understanding of biological mechanisms and facilitating new applications in drug development, vaccines, and materials science. Researchers now have tools to design new proteins and understand diseases at an unprecedented scale, opening the door to treatments for conditions like antibiotic resistance and plastic degradation.
